The spirit of innovative entrepreneurship is at the heart of today’s business environment. Whether it’s to launch a new business venture or an intrapreneurial project, the ability to develop new business opportunities and leverage tech innovations is an essential driver for growth.

As a participant in the Certificate in Entrepreneurship & Innovation Management, you will acquire the knowledge, skills and tools to effectively implement an entrepreneurial or intrapreneurial project. With a primary focus on the fundamentals of entrepreneurship and a secondary focus on innovation management, the certificate trains professionals to capitalize on new opportunities for growth.

This program provides participants with the opportunity to acquire key skills and knowledge in the fields of entrepreneurship and innovation management. The three-part course explores a wide range of topics, including the fundamentals of developing business plans and pitches, acquiring project funding and scaling-up, and capitalizing on opportunities offered by emerging technology, innovation ecosystems and collaborative innovation. Participants will be able to acquire hands-on experience by preparing an innovative, entrepreneurial project from start to finish.

Upon completing the certificate, you will have learned to:

Entrepreneurship & Business Opportunities : Feb 10 - 14, 2020

New Venture Business Planning : April 6 - 10, 2020

In this module, you will learn how to:

  • Develop business plans and pitches for strategic investors
  • Overcome the challenges of scaling a venture

Entrepreneurship & Innovation : May 25 - 29, 2020

Core concepts:

  • Identify and capitalize on innovation opportunities
  • Build a collaborative vision to foster innovation

In this module, you will learn how to:

  • Identify and understand emerging technology
  • Plan and implement effective innovation strategies
  • Connect innovation, intrapreneurship and corporate venturing
  • Implement collaboration, alliances and partnerships for innovation
  • Understand the power of open innovation
  • Analyze innovation funding and investment opportunities


Participants will be evaluated on how they apply course concepts to their specific new venture project as well as case studies. Evaluation will include a startup project pitch and a business plan.

Continue your learning experience

Credit from this 90 hours program may be applied to completing an MBA degree.

Educational approach

This certificate builds on a ‘learn by doing’ approach. Participants will explore key theoretical concepts before applying this knowledge to their own new venture projects.

For modules one & two: Flipped classrooms and experiential learning will be used with participants working in teams of 4 to develop a lean startup project.

For module three: A focus on knowledge acquisition through readings, case studies, simulations and guest speakers.

This certificate is taught by GEM faculty and professional experts. With faculty engaged in applied research and the input of working professionals, the course links theory and practice by sharing useful knowledge and analyzing real-life business cases. Our diverse set of faculty and experts ensures the program benefits from a strong international perspective.

Program Fees

The cost of the Certificate is 6,100 euros. It covers the tuition and access to all GEM facilities. The cost does not include accommodation and meals.
